Lionsgate 8/8 Portal 2023

I used The Good Tarot which is designed by Colette Baron-Reid and  whilst my favourite deck to work with is the Rider Waite deck, I do love the Good Tarot and it always lends itself perfectly for my readings for the collective ...

The cards that I pulled: (1) The world / (2) Ace of Earth / (3) The Fool / (4) Fortune’s Wheel

All four cards in this spread fell out when I was shuffling and asking specifically for cards to represent (1) The present situation (2) The Challenges (3) The Solution and (4) The future rising with the sun on the horizon

I absolutely love this selection of cards that chose to make themselves known for this year’s Lions Gate. Firstly, the Ace of Earth or Ace of Pentacles has come up consistently for me in readings using the Rider Waite cards that I have done this last few days in relation to Lions Gate and so it is thrilling that yet again, Ace of Earth figures in this spread for the 8/8 portal.

Given that Lions Gate is about setting our intentions to what we wish to solidly manifest into our lives and the need for clearing out that which does not serve us in order to make room for that which brings us more fulfillment and meets our desires, the Ace of Earth following on from The World, is right on point.  It establishes that this new cycle is already successfully current in the multi dimensional space/time continuum and so all we have to do in our personal lives is to overcome any challenges that are preventing us from dreaming our future in and align with the energies of it already having successfully been made manifest.  This incidentally is always the magic ingredient in successful manifesting anyway ...

The World card too is completely perfect as the first card. It represents a portal through which new life emerges .. the successful completion of one cycle and the gathering of focus and energy to be directed into a new cycle. A departure from that which is no longer relevant ties in with the energies of this period where Lions Gate preparation for the 8/8 portal requires you to clear out the old that no longer serves and to prepare and re-direct your focus into the direction of that which you want to manifest for yourself going forward.

The 8/8 portal is an intensification of the energies that are needed to gather momentum for your focussed intentions to be made manifest and The World card leading to the Ace of Earth is in perfect sync with the energies of the Lions Gate period. . In this deck designed by Colette Baron-Reid, the World card shows 3 planets in total alignment with eachother and a golden disc (which could easily be the sun) positioned at the top of the 3 planets. The fiery power of the Sun and the impact that the solar rays will have on our spiritual development cannot be avoided here.   Anchorage to our Soul's knowing and allowing that to shine and transform for necessary change is the theme of this next few months.

For this reason, this World card is the perfect card to fall out of the shuffle because of the alignment of Sirius, Earth and Orion with the Sun over-seeing it all and streaming down its rays onto Earth (the world) that is what creates the Lions Gate astrological phenomenon in the first place. For this to be the first card to fall out whilst I was shuffling and concentrating on Lions Gate along with the Ace of Earth, is very exciting. The key hole in the middle of the sun too on the card is perfect to symbolise that it is the sun that holds the key to our accelerated ascension during Lions Gate. That key hole to me signifies the portal through which the new cycle is born.

The World card as the last card in the Major Arcana is significant for this particular reading too and I am further excited that The Fool dropped out when I was shuffling and asking for a card to represent the solution. The Fool with its numerical position of 0 is in perfect rhythm with the energies building up in the World card to be made manifest into a new cycle/journey. With the challenge for the collective being identified in this spread as the Ace of Earth, it makes total sense that the Fool should fall in the position of the 'solution'. It is advising you to take a fearless approach in clearing out the old and stepping into the new. A fearlessness when it comes to identifying your wildest dreams and being brave enough to set your intentions for them to be manifested. Lions Gate is the time in the year when you can really go for gold in your choice of manifestations because the energies to support your abilities to manifest are so intense and high. Accelerated codes from the sun and intensification brought about by the alignment of Sirius, Earth and Orion are all giving reason for the courage, fearlessness and trust embodied by the Fool.

The challenges we face as a collective during this period as represented by Ace of Earth can be to identify with our seemingly loftiest of dreams and desires that this Astrological time has the power to give form and reality to. Earth energies can bog us down (if we are not careful) into the need for tangible proof and to see it before we believe it, but being the Ace, whilst it is the card that chose to represent our challenges, the Ace gives an element of encouragement that new cycles can be made manifest, especially given that this card is about the successful physical manifestation of desires and the beginning of new opportunities and abundance.

This particular card has the ancient (dating even further back than the Celts) symbology of the Triskelion (note the word lion at the end of this word?!) . Spirals in Celtic lore represent the Sun and so 3 Spirals represents the Sun three times magnified which is perfect for the theme of Lionsgate with its accelerated, intensified solar rays. In addition to the Sun, the Triskelion is referred to by Keith O'Hara in his article Triskelion / Triskele: Meaning, History + Celtic Link where he says that “The Triskelion meaning receives a lot of debate online. Some say that it symbolises strength and progress and the ability to move forward …. while others say it represents the physical realm, the spirit world and the celestial world of the sun, moon, stars and planets”.

I love that this Ace of Earth card with its Triskelion on the disk claimed the 'challenges' position in this spread  as all these meanings ascribed in Keith O'Hara's article fall into harmony with the themes of the Lionsgate period. The power of the Sun to help us manifest makes this Ace of Earth card the perfect one to identify where we may face challenges to really make use of this period to create changes that would give us that which we never dared dream we could create for ourselves before. Belief is necessary in order to make the most out of what the Lions Gate portal offers us as is the fearlessness of the Fool to forget about our ego and throw caution to the wind in order to really commit to what we want for ourselves in our lives.

The Fool is so closely working with the energies of The World card too in its position as the solution to any challenges faced by this Lionsgate portal. The World card representing the end of one cycle (number 21 and the last card of the Major Arcana) and the Fool card (with the digit 0 as the first card in the Major Arcana),  emerging through the portal of the World to initiate the new cycle

Stepping on the precipice of the cliff ready to step confidently forward with her vision for the future she wishes to manifest firmly, in the centre of her view. The origianal Rider Waite card for the Fool shows him looking upwards lost in a revereie of optimistic joy at the life he envisions for himself, and this is the focus needed to help those of us who feel hampered by fears, self doubt and a lack of self worth when it comes to staking our claim to these Lionsgate energies to align with our deepest desires.

Visualising, writing a mind map or list of what you wish for yourself as we transition through the 8/8 portal , feeling deep in our heart, in our soul the compass for our life's direction, can be a challenging thing to do when we have been suppressing taking full responsibility for the life we lead and the direction that Fortune's Wheel moves and thus may cause us to feel “fated” rather than at the receiving end of the impartial Karmic Wheel as dictated by our relationship with ourself. The solution offered by the Fool card suggests that by aligning with the Fool's confident and enthusiastic reverie that the vision she holds in her heart is the roadmap by which she intends to travel, then we can overcome those clunky, material, physical and psychological barriers of the 3D world to grant ourselves the right to manifest and enjoy our most desired life. The Fool will get us through the Portal with our dreams intact, ready to manifest them with the energies of the Magician (no. 1 in the Major Arcana ) which is the partner card to Fortune's Wheel (no.10 in the Major Arcana which when we add 1+0 it comes to 1 ) and therefore the energies of the Magician are implicit in this reading too via the Wheel of Fortune card. As the Fool requires the role of the Magician to draw down spirit to make it 's intentions physically manifested, the choice of Fortune's Wheel to fall out whilst I was shuffling and make itself the last card of the spread, is deeply significant I feel.

Just a little aside too from the main theme, I love how Colette Baron-Reid has put a bugle into the Fool's hand and has her playing it as she confidently stands proud. I have only ever seen a wind instrument, or even any instrument for that matter, in the hand of the Fool card of the Sola Busca deck (1491). Aside from the fact that it is a nod to the courtly jester function of The Fool's origin and use in Tarot Card Games of the mid 15th Century, the Good Tarot Fool suggests a deeper meaning with the sounding of the bugle.   As part of this spread with The World card as the signifier card, the bugle in the hand of The Fool who is emerging through the portal ( 0 ) from the end of one life cycle into the beginning of the next,  makes me think of this quote by Hans Jenny:  "But everything owes its existence solely and completely to sound.  Sound is a factor which holds it together.  Sound is the basis of form and shape.  In the beginning was God.  We are told this is how the world began and how creation took shape".  The Good Tarot imagery of the Fool playing the bugle ties in with the creation of the world and links it nicely to the significance of The World card in this spread.  Lionsgate does mark the end of one world and the beginning of a new world hence the reason why the Ancient Egyptians chose the 8th Aug as their marker for the new year.

Fortune's Wheel is such a multi layered card but for the purposes of this Lionsgate spread I would say that its appearance is a logical expression of the fact that we make our own fate/fortune/karma depending upon the roadmap and compass within our Fool selves. It is impossible for the Lionsgate energies to propel us through the portal of the world, begin a new cycle (Ace of Earth/Pentacles) and for us to emerge through that new cycle as the Fool ready to employ the energies of the Magician, without turning Fortunes Wheel (or as it is termed in most tarot decks, The Wheel of Fortune).

This card from The Good Tarot, (designed by Colette Baron-Reid), has the Sun central to its wheel and also again in a smaller wheel at the bottom of the card, which I love because in this 8/8 Lionsgate situation it is the Sun which precipitates the turning of the wheel to take us into a new direction regardless of whether that may be one of “good” or “bad” fortune.  The design of this particular card with two suns, fits with the fact that the Solar Flares of this Leo Sun will activate the Sun within us which will in turn, influence the direction of our “fate” and “fortune” depending upon the extent to which we have processed and made friends with our Shadow Self. In mentioning the Shadow Self, take a look at this Fortune's Wheel card and you will see that the Moon has also been included in the middle of the wheel head to head with the Sun. This particular deck of Colette Baron-Reid's withits apt symbology and illustrations is perfect I think, for a Lionsgate spread.

Fortune's Wheel is the inevitable outcome of Lionsgate operating in our lives and it shows us that this particular Astrological time is a gift to help us to steer our lives in taking the helm of our Karmic Wheel of “Fortune” to create the life we want.

The Magician is the partner card of the Wheel of Fortune and although it wasn't actually pulled for this spread, in pulling Fortune's Wheel I pulled also the implicit energies of The Magician too.  With the Wheel of Fortune card being number 10 in The Major Arcana, if we add 1+0 we arrive at the Magician's number which is 1.

As the Major Arcana cards are sequential in their composite meanings, and the Magician represents the ability to transform spirit and intention into matter, it is the perfect card to recognise within the sub-meanings of the World and The Fool as without the Magician, the Fool has no way of realising the dreams that lie in his heart and determining his fate/fortune as he steps out into his new life.

Partner Cards ~ The Magician and The Empress

The World Card's numbers 2+1 = 3 which is the Empress number in the Major Arcana.  The Empress!  Pregnant with potential, who sits on her throne and has enough personal sovereignty to sit and wait for her intentions to be realised.  Fertility, abundance and magnetism determine the Empress's circumstances which tie in perfectly with the Lionsgate portal energies of a new world/life waiting to come through that delivers the hopes and dreams of those who are positively aligned.  For Fortunes Wheel to turn favourably, the inherent energies of The Empress exist for us to draw on and utilise as we connect with our inner Empress.

As I finish this blog, (which I started on the 7th Aug with the full intention to publish it by the day of the 8/8 Portal), it is the 11th Aug, one day before the last day of this Lionsgate period.  However, as frustrating as this 'lateness' has been for me personally, thanks to the quantum parallels in multiple timelines, the point when you read this blog will be the right 'time' for you and as such, you will access the frequencies of Lionsgate.

So get manifesting!!!
